Overview of Peak Potential Life In Balance 2017 Series

Over the course of this 5 week series, you will have access to tools that will help you do three important things:
1. See things as they really are. Using the Life Wheel & Areas of Management Worksheet to break your busy life into manageable chunks.

2. Figure out what your ideal is. Via a series of Life In Balance (LIB) Brainstorming Exercises and start identifying steps you can take now using the Three to Thrive Worksheet get the results you say you want.

3. Develop your Action Plan. You will learn how to create a Perfect 10 Day that suits your lifestyle and learn to hold yourself accountable. When you know exactly what you want, and more importantly WHY you want it, it is easier to get jazzed about taking the steps you know will move you in the direction of your peak potential!

Shifting Focus

Take 10 minutes to brainstorm answers to these 5 short questions…Write everything that comes to mind…you can add to it any time as more comes to mind! The best way to do this is in a Google doc or Blogspot of your own; if you know how to do this already great, if not, we provide details upon request. We will use this “Shifting Focus” worksheet as a valuable tool to redirect your focus whenever you need to. When you get off track, this can help remind you who you are, what matters to you, or at least give you something better to think about.

  1. What am I most happy about right now (what could you be happy about). What about it makes you happy…How does that make you feel… What is another thing that makes you happy.
  2. What are you really excited about in your life right now.(What could you be)…What about it makes you excited…How does it make you feel…What else are you really excited about
  3. What are you really grateful for in your life right now (What could you be)  Why? How does it make you feel? What else are you grateful for.
  4. What are your really proud of in your life right now? … What about it makes you feel proud? … How does that make you feel? …What else are you proud of?
  5. Who do you really love most in your life, and who loves you. What is it about that person that makes you love them. How does that make you feel.

Continuously ask yourself, “What can I do today to make this day more enjoyable? What can I do today to connect with the people I care about? What can I do to be more productive?
Learn to ask better questions in every situation. In challenging situations, you can ask yourself, “What do I not like about this and how would I like things to be, What can I learn? How can I see this differently?”

When you ask better questions, you get better answers! Trite but true!

People who really have it together, whose lives are really in balance, have 3 things in common:

  1. They know what they want
  2. They know why they want it
  3. They know what it will take to make it happen

This is the basis for the Life in Balance Program. It starts with two main ingredients.
  1. Focus
  2. A Plan…YOUR plan

Without a plan your focus usually fluctuates between 3 really unproductive things:

  1. Whatever is irritating you, frustrating you, scaring you, or making you mad – you can’t get it out of your mind because there is nothing better to focus on at the moment. You have nothing positive to work towards so the negative takes over.
  2. Demands from other people. Since you don’t know what you want, or you aren’t committed to doing things you need to do, you end up doing things that other people want and need you to do…because, well, why not” You don’t have anything better in mind at the moment.
  3. Escape. A sense of relief from your stresses and feelings of anxiety. Escaping the feeling of not being productive. Watching TV, playing on the internet, doing little things that make you feel good for the moment, and other pleasurable “time killers” just so you don’t have to think about “it” for a while.

The goal of this Life In Balance Seminar is to give you the tools to guide you to create a plan of accountability and direct your focus, by doing these 3 things.

  1. See things as they really are. (Life Wheel)
  2. Figure out what your ideal is. What results do you want?
  3. Develop an effective Outcome-Purpose-Action plan to make it happen.
    • Outcome:        What you want.
    • Purpose:          Why you want it.
    • Action:             What specific actions must you take to make it happen.

One of the keys to the success of this program is your willingness to BRAINSTORM, and get your ideas and ideals on paper, or better yet in a google doc or your own blog. We will show you how to do this!

You are committing to living up to your potential and making the best use of your time and talent. Not many people are willing to do what it takes to get what they want…many people sit and wait for things to happen, or they sit around complaining about things not happening for them. I know YOU are not one of those people, or you would not be reading this now. It is refreshing to connect with people like you who are willing to make things happen. It is contagious and I look forward to working with you and supporting you in any way! Thanks for joining in! This will be a mutually EMPOWERING series!!!!
All the best, Celia

Winter Solstice Invite to a New Free Life in Balance Series

The winter Solstice  is the shortest day of the year. The days will soon become longer, and after months of dark evenings, we will now see more light at the end of the day. More light is exactly what the Peak Potential Life in Balance Program is all about; shedding a little light on what we want in this life and how we plan to get it. There are no costs involved. The only commitment is the one to yourself to make more progress in reaching your own Peak Potential by getting your Life in Balance.

The tilt of the Earth is what causes winter and summer; its position in relation to everything around it is what creates the seasons. Although this day is only 49 minutes shorter than the longest day of the year, the differences in the temperature and weather are extreme (okay not so much for those of us living in the Caribbean). The point is, extreme differences can be made in your life by taking just a few minutes each week to check in with the things you say are important to you.

This is a Winter Solstice invite to join another session of Life In Balance (LIB 2017). Some of you have done this with me, and some might be interested. Others may find some of the tools and worksheets helpful in gaining some insights or discipline in doing what you say you want to do. There are two main elements of this work:

1. Focus
Knowing WHAT you want, and knowing WHY you want it

The fun part comes with this focus as a foundation for development:

2. A Plan
Knowing what it will take to make it happen. Your ACTION Plan.

I am setting up the 5 week series on this blog called Peak Potential - Life in Balance. Starting Sunday January 1st,  you can check in here for the weekly post, get your assignment, tools, ask questions or make comments, and share insights or your progress if you feel like it!

I plan to meet whoever wants to do a Labyrinth Walk and a LIB-2017 catch up chat up at Foundation Park at 4:30-6pm every Wednesday in January. I know that some of you are extra busy this time of year, which is why I have set up this blog so you can participate independently and on your own schedule but still be part of the collective effort to support each other as we get our Life if Balance and ensure better management of all areas of our life!

I will post the first tool this Sunday, Christmas Day!
Give yourself the gift of reaching YOUR Peak Potential.

All the best, Celia
