Family Connections are Key!

I am so connected with Mom and my family knows I love and admire each and every one of them. Although I love my island life and family, I also look forward to the transition to G'ville when it is time and am already planning how to establish and maintain healthy connections as I grow old with the people I grew up with. I am alos bless to have travel buddies around the world!

Centenarian Olympics & Functional Fitness

What use is living to old age without self-sufficiency? Its called Functional Fitness and it means improving your Health Span. Instead of accepting the inevitability of physical deterioration, you can take a stand. After age 65, lower body strength is estimated to drop 1-2% per year. With some deliberate planning and training, you can continue building strength until your final years.

Peter Attia reminds us, "The body, in most people, will fail before the other systems (brain, heart, etc.). First question… “If I want to live to 100, what do I have to physically be able to do to be satisfied with my life?”

Most seniors will admit that one thing they most regret is "having lost their agility and the ability to accomplish everyday physical tasks."

Things I want to do and exercises I can do now to train for that day in 30 years:

  1. I want to be able to lift something that weighs 30 pounds over my head (i.e. a suitcase into an overhead bin)... Overhead Press with increasing weight now so 30# seems easy later in life
  2. Being able to walk up three flights of stairs with 10 lb of groceries in each hand (aerobic, and on the threshold of aerobic/anaerobic, also got strength)
  3. Get up off the floor with a single point of support (i.e. using 1 arm)... Turkish Kettle Get'Up
  4. Picking up the 30-pound kid who comes running at you could be approximated by a 30 lb goblet squat
  5. Get out of a pool without a ladder (or onto a dingy, paddle board or kayak)  = Pushups
  6. Other stability exercises: Single leg deadlifts, stability balance ball, core exercises
Where most people start to fail first is stability. Do your squats,  resting sitting squat, hip flexor stretches. Maintain your flexibility and core strength.

Others exercises include:
Bear crawls, Crab walks, Duck walks, Deep squats, Ankle slides, Climbing stairs, Ability to sit and stand without using my hands, Ability to perform a full squat, Ability to walk on a 2×4
Skipping, Jumping from one leg to another, Jumping on top of ledges (or boxes), Clap pushups, Sled or car pushes

2022 Wrap & Set up for 2023

I am a life coach, with my #1 client being me. I offer life coaching series (Life in Balance) ...and then will take an Accountability Partner role if my the LIB student wants support on a weekly check in with monthly support sessions.

I am very happy about the work I have done on myself and with others in 2022. Between the HOTM work and my time with MY Accountability Partner, Margie - I have made progress on my own development which is helping me cultivate my goal of Unconditional Conduct with Unwavering Faith and Love! They say that "People in love admit to spending about 85 percent of their time thinking about the object of their affection." ... and I plan to remain in love with my life and myself...and to help others find that bliss too!

Weekly Commitment...Monday.Com

Treat it like the commitment your desire is longing for. Just like with these blogs, you check in several times a year and BOOM...6 years have passed on this one blog alone. ALOT can happen in 6 years. You start and it evolves! All that stuff you were giving Sheena and Magualie for their Coaching biz... Put it on YOUR site and just have them refer to it there! Go on record as having it there. Thank the masters you got it from and be the master you have been guided to be. NOT in a cocky way, but you HAVE mastered some challenges which has set you up to face more and help others along the way if possible. Just like with the fitness gig...it is a gift from God, nurture it, and grow it into something that you and God are proud of. Service is the focus. Love, Serve and Remember.

SO take AT LEAST and hour and hit the Peak Potential Life site once a week. YOU are continuing to learn really good things you want to share with others...SO DI IT in a way that grows more valuable as time goes on and share what you are learning. Do that thing you wanted Geo to do.....Don't make them to do the research, you already have! Make it easier for them! You don't have to publish right away - doesn't have to be perfect. Just start building Content!

Bye 2021...hello 2022

Bye 2021...hello 2022:

Honest Assessment of 2021: I did not make this a priority in 2021. I feel like I have built and continue to build good coaching material, but I am not putting it into a form that can help others. Is this just lazy? Or not thinking enough of what I have to say in the way of inspiring and motivating and educating? Think about it and remove the blocks....IF this matters to you. If not, and you want to keep this to yourself, that is ok too. But that really deprives you and others.

Vision for 2022 with the why for commitment: Start thinking legacy Celia. You have made progress in so many areas. Stopping smoking, stopping binge drinking, stopping bulimia, date rape and letting go of victim mentality and the stories that you though would garner supportive love and attention...and SO MUCH MORE! You don't have to have this all down in the perfect words or have the perfect answers. THERE ARE NONE. Just share what worked for you and hope that it triggers something in someone else. Be willing to be vulnerable. Little by little. challenge by challenge. Acknowledge it to yourself and expand upon it for others. Ask their advice and direction for others...the regular guys and the professionals.

Purpose: devoting your time to projects that spark your imagination, inspire, excite, and satisfy you

Most humans are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is. It must be found through exploration.

Most living things belong to a particular soul group and are born knowing their purpose in life. An animal will spend its day foraging for food, taking care of itself and its young, and creating a home. No one tells an animal to do this, yet it instinctively knows how. Humans, for the most part, are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is.

Purpose gives our life meaning. When you discover your purpose, you can live your life with intention and make choices that serve your objective for why you are here on the planet. Finding your purpose is not always easy. You must embrace life wholeheartedly, explore many different pathways, and allow yourself to grow. Your purpose is as unique as you are and will evolve as you move through life. You don't need anyone's permission to fulfill your purpose, and no one can tell you what that purpose is. Finding and fulfilling your purpose can be a lifelong endeavor. To figure out what your purpose is, ask yourself what drives you -- not what forces you out of bed in the morning, but what makes you glad to be alive. Make a list of activities that you wish you were involved in or think about a career path that you would love to embark upon. These are the endeavors that can help you fulfill your purpose and bring you the most satisfaction.

Picture yourself working on projects that don't interest you or fulfill your purpose, yet they help satisfy your basic survival needs. Imagine how living this way each day would make you feel. Next, picture yourself devoting your time to projects that spark your imagination, inspire, excite, and satisfy you. More often than not, these activities are some of the ways that you can fulfill your life purpose. Time spent on these endeavors will never feel like a waste. Live your life with purpose, and you will feel significant and capable because every action you take and each choice you make will have meaning to it.

Kix Coach

Ok, so I had a great talk with Kimberly about social anxiety and what other people MAY be thinking or saying. About family and judgements and unconditional love. About being perfect - not in a conceited kind of way, but because thinking anything else would be an insult to God. I told her about the Life Wheel and that I would share that with her. She can help and coach me for the swim and I will reciprocate with some Life in Balance work to help her:-)
